Explained
With Google Sites, you can create websites, blogs, or list files. It's especially powerful when you use all three of these components. Here are some nontraditional uses:
Curriculum Site:
- I've put my entire curriculum online, complete with lessons, handouts, useful links, etc.
- And it's private! I'm the only one who can see this, or I can choose to share it with others.
- The beauty of this is that everything I ever need to teach, or use professionally, is accessible anywhere and I don't need to worry about computer crashes or losing my info.
- Creating a grade level resource site shared only with teachers could be valuable (like the T and G drives available at home).
Classroom Site:
- This might be an obvious use for google sites, but to take it a step further, you can create templates for certain assignments that students can download and work on.
- For ex. I've done a magazine lesson, where I created the file all set up in Powerpoint, and students only need to download it.
- Check it out here.
