A Makerspace is a place for students to make all kinds of things in support of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM). STEAM focused education and Makerspaces as an extension of that, help students to improve problem solving, engage in higher order thinking, and fosters collaboration and creativity.
Students will be able to make all kinds of things, from origami, bracelets, structures using blocks and legos to programs. Our first few sessions of the Maker Club have already begun and students are making up a storm!
Additionally, we’re pleased to announce that the MCPE and PTO have graciously awarded the library with grants to expand the Makerspace and include legos, robots like Spheros, a green screen and much more. Students can’t wait to explore all of these great tools when they arrive!
